Find your perfect grind with the Titleist Vokey Design SM8 Wedges. Bob Vokey’s 6 Tour-proven sole grinds give all golfers a set of wedges fit for their swing type and course conditions. Finely-tuned Progressive Center of Gravity placement achieves improved trajectory, distance control and feel. The Spin Milled groove cutting process and 100% quality inspection prove nothing spins like a Vokey.

HIT YOUR NUMBER:

  • Vokey recommends 4° - 6° of loft separation between your wedges, resulting in 10-15 yard gaps
  • Most players will benefit from carrying 4 wedges, which lead to tighter distance gaps and more full swings

BOUNCE AND GRIND SELECTION:

  • Having different grind options in your wedge set will create more versatility and improve your shot making from various lies and turf conditions
  • Bob Vokey’s 6 Tour-proven sole grinds give all golfers a set of wedges fit for their swing type and course conditions
  • F-Grind: Full sole designed primarily for full swings and square face shots. Due to this design, it is the only grind available in 46° - 52°, with the 54° and 56° being the most played SW on Tour.
  • M-Grind: Voke’s favorite, the M Grind is designed for players that like to rotate the club face open and shut to manufacture shots around the green.
  • S-Grind: Design based on feedback from Steve Stricker, the S is best for square face shots with a touch more versatility than the F Grind. Simple mechanics are best with this wedge.
  • D-Grind: The player’s high bounce wedge. High measured bounce with the crescent shape of the M Grind for shot making versatility.
  • K-Grind: The highest bounce wedge in the lineup, the K Grind is the ultimate bunker club and the most forgiving wedge in the lineup for all shots.
  • L-Grind: The L Grind features a narrow crescent shape allowing maximum green side versatility, but it is the least forgiving wedge in the lineup.
SM7 Bounce is Your Friend

BOUNCE IS YOUR FRIEND:

  • Adding one high bounce and one mid bounce wedge to your set will create move versatility and improve shot making from various lies and turf conditions
  • High bounce options (F, D & K Grinds) are designed for soft bunker, heavy rough or soft fairway conditions and suit golfers with a neutral to steep/digger stroke type
  • Mid bounce options (F, M & S Grinds) are designed for low-cut fairway conditions and are suited for golfers with a neutral to steep/digger stroke type
  • Low bounce options (L Grind) are designed for hardpan bunker conditions and are suited for golfers with a shallow/sweeper stroke type

ADDITIONAL FEATURES:

  • Tour-validated, expertly crafted wedges designed to offer maximized spin, control and consistency
  • Progressive Center of Gravity placement enables precise distance gaps and trajectory control
  • CG location optimized for each loft, bounce and grind for exceptional feel through the set
  • High density tungsten pushes CG forward from the face for a more reliable, pure strike
  • Lengthened hosel and low tungsten weighting delivers increased MOI, improved feel and ball flight
  • Spin Milled Grooves unique to each club finish to create sharpest, most consistent edges
  • Parallel Face Texture for more consistent edges, tighter tolerances and maximum spin
  • Low lofts (46° - 54°) designed with narrower, deeper grooves
  • Higher lofts (56° - 62°) have wider grooves across the face
  • Unique grooves result in superior spin and control on all shots

F Grind: The F grind is an all-purpose grind that is particularly suited for full shots and shots hit with a square face. Ideal for players who prefer a traditional wedge sole. The F grind is the most played sand wedge on Tour including Justin Thomas, Ian Poulter and Charlie Hoffman.

M Grind: Vokey’s favorite, the M grind is designed for players that like to rotate the club face open and closed to manufacture shots around the green. Ideal for players with a shallower, more sweeping swing type who play shots from a variety of clubface positions. Played by Charles Howell III, Patrick Cantlay and Cam Smith.

S Grind: The S Grind features a full sole that has been narrowed by a trailing edge grind, giving it a faster feel through the turf. The S Grind is best for neutral to firm conditions and for players that like to control loft with their hands ahead or behind the ball. Played by Jordan Spieth, Adam Scott and Lanto Griffin.

D Grind: The D grind blends versatility from a heel, toe, and trailing edge grind and forgiveness with its high measured bounce. The D Grind is ideal for players with a steeper angle of attack who play shots from a variety of clubface positions.

K Grind: The K Grind is the highest bounce wedge in the lineup, and is the ultimate bunker club. The K Grind is a wide, full sole wedge with enhanced camber to make it forgiving from a variety of sand and turf conditions. Played by Justin Thomas, Adam Scott and Webb Simpson.

L Grind: The L Grind is the lowest bounce grind option in the mix. The heel, toe, and trailing edge relief allow for maximum greenside versatility. The L Grind is perfect for firm conditions and designed for precise players. It is ideal for players that have complete control of impact looking for maximum shot-making versatility. Played by Jordan Spieth, Jimmy Walker, and JT Poston.

What’s new: The Progressive Center of Gravity design, introduced in the SM6, has been improved yet again. The center of gravity is moved forward to a position that hovers in front of the wedge face, which makes the clubface want to stay square. This improves distance and trajectory control, as well as feel and stability.

What Bob Vokey says: “When Kevin Tassistro (Director of Wedge R&D) brings me new prototypes, he knows I won’t have feedback until I’ve watched tour players hit them. The proof is in their results and their reactions. That’s been my validation process from Day 1. The first time I had guys hit SM8 was on the range at Riviera. I always listen to the sound they’re making at impact, and it was phenomenal. ‘Solid but soft’ was how they described it. They loved it. That means they’re getting the proper feedback that you need to execute every type of wedge shot, whether you’re in the fairway, in a bunker or around the green. They also talked a lot about the flight. It’s in a better window, it’s more consistent, and they have more control of it. Overall, guys just kept telling me how easy it was to hit every type of shot they wanted to hit. They just felt like they were getting more of out of the wedge – and that’s because Kevin and his team were able to push that CG forward out in front of the face, to a place we never would have imagined 20 years ago.”
