Quick Overview
The New XXIO Forged series woods offer the same Dual Speed Technology1 featured on Dunlop's XXIO7 series woods, reengineered exclusively for top players to deliver the powerful ball flight and control such golfers demand. The new woods also take intangible qualities such as easy addressing and a soft impact feel to the next level.
1 Dunlop Sports original technology, developed to provide both higher head speed and higher ball speed.
Key Features of the New XXIO Forged Driver
1. Dual Speed Technology reengineered for top players' faster head speed
Higher Head Speed
Reduced club moment of inertia (MOI)2
The New XXIO Forged series woods' exclusively designed MX4000 carbon shaft is 2g lighter than the previous model and its center of gravity (CG) is 50mm closer to the grip. This new design reduces the club's MOI and generates higher head speed.

Higher ball speed
(1) Higher club head kinetic energy
Club head weight has been increased by 4g over the previous model, imparting more kinetic energy to the ball upon impact and generating higher ball speed.
(2) Expanded sweet spot
The expanded thin portion of the face employs our original Condensed Face forging technology, resulting in 4% higher strength over the previous
model. A 10% larger sweet spot generates higher average ball speed.
(3) Higher on-center hitting ratio
Making the club 0.25 in. shorter than the previous model results in a higher on-center hitting ratio and higher average ball speed.
2. Reengineered exclusively for top players
Slimmer shape makes addressing the ball easier
With a slightly smaller projected area and slimmer profile, the new club makes it easier to address the ball and allows the player to swing through fully.
Low spin, medium trajectory affords optimal ball flight
The weight saved by using a lighter chemically-etched crown3 and lighter low-density titanium face has been redistributed elsewhere, resulting in a slightly shallower center of gravity (CG) that produces the medium-trajectory, lower-spin shots top players favor.
3 The inside of the crown is chemically treated and covered with lattice ribbing to achieve weight reduction. Moving from the back of the crown to the face, the squares of the lattice gradually become smaller to provide greater strength upon impact.
More resonant impact sound
New Sound Ribs on the chemically-etched crown and the thin area of the sole produce a unique lower frequency vibration in the head, delivering a pleasing resonant impact sound with less reverberation that top players favor.
